About This Cause

People living with disability often experience loneliness and social isolation that can adversely affect mental health and wellness. Our garden therapy programs are a source of motivation that promotes inclusion, rebuilds community connections, and empowers through hands-on learning. Trellis primary operations are located in Decatur, GA. Trellis operates the Ability Garden that offers therapeutic gardening programs for adults living with disabilities resulting from spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, and mental health disorders related to post-traumatic stress. Trellis is unique in that our garden spaces are all wheelchair-accessible, making our programs available to anyone regardless of physical ability. Trellis also brings its garden therapy programs directly to other social service organizations at their location. Trellis has a strong collaboration with Atlanta's Shepherd Center and the Atlanta VA Medical Center serving veterans battling PTSD. Who We Serve: - Adults with Spinal Cord Injury and Brain Injury - Adults In Recovery from Stroke - Veterans diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress - Other neurological disorders caused by brain tumors and multiple sclerosis
