Mission Statement
Through street rescue, Little Wanderers NYC is dedicated to the day when there are no more homeless and suffering cats in New York City, while providing critical rescue and veterinary services for ill and injured cats. LWNYC is also dedicated to reducing the cat overpopulation problem through Trap/Neuter/ Return (TNR). We educate the public about the importance of spay/neuter services for community cats.
About This Cause
Little Wanderers NYC is an all-volunteer grass roots cat rescue group based in NYC that provides TNR (trap/neuter/return) and rescue to the neediest cats in the toughest neighborhoods, with the aim to adopt cats into safe and loving homes. Our street rescues focus mostly on sick and injured cats in areas of NYC where many other rescuers will not venture to. Through education and community engagement we promote spay/neuter services as the most effective way of reducing the cat overpopulation explosion. Little Wanderers is a foster based rescue with an extensive reach throughout the five boroughs of NYC. We also pull “at-risk” cats from NYC’s municipal shelter.
