Mission Statement
Pueblo Unido creates hope for and amplifies the voices of communities with vulnerable immigration status by connecting them to legal, social, and Indigenous language interpretation services. We envision a world in which all people live in freedom, and where we and our communities can be safe, feel supported and thrive.
About This Cause
Pueblo Unido's programs include Legal Navigation, Social Service Navigation, and support for the Collective of Indigenous Interpreters of Oregon (CIIO). Our programs are focused on addressing long-standing inequities and promoting social inclusion by helping people with a vulnerable immigration status overcome financial, technological, literacy, linguistic, and bureaucratic barriers to essential human rights and services. Since our formation in April 2017, we--our donors, volunteers, clients, staff, and partners--have collaborated to: - Facilitate 585 free legal consultations; - Connect over 1,200 individuals to legal representation; - Provide financial assistance towards 180 rent and utility payments; - Submit more than 15,500 navigations to the Oregon Worker Relief Fund, Quarantine Fund, Home Fund, and Climate Change Fund; and, - Deliver Indigenous language interpretation services during more than 400 appointments. This work protects due process rights, promotes household stability, and secures language justice, and it could not be possible without your support.
