Mission Statement
The mission of the Society of Women Engineers at the City College of New York is to stimulate women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity. Our club intends to inspire young women and provide them with the resources needed to thrive in a male-dominated field.
About This Cause
Our club holds monthly events which focus on academic excellence and connecting undergraduate women engineers with professionals in their fields. Together we teach each other skills that are needed in engineering fields, such as time management, resume writing, networking, and others. In addition, we have organized multiple facility tours for our members so they can get an inside look into what industry looks like and network with professionals. In November 2019, we organized a trip for 20 SWE members from City College to go to the SWE National Conference in Anaheim, California, where many students were offered internships and full-time jobs.
