Mission Statement

The mission of the Festival is to encourage all students, regardless of age, background, and experience to take a greater interest in STEM with the hope that they will pursue a STEM related/focused career.

About This Cause

The Maryland STEM Festival is an annual celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics that takes place each Fall all across Maryland. Each year, the Festival provides events that are open to the public, free of charge, family-oriented, and FUN! Virtually every County and Baltimore City hosts Festival events. These events range in size from a handful of people to more than 1,000 attendees. Events focus on subjects from Agriculture to Zoology and everything in between and are hosted by libraries, public and private schools, colleges and universities, museums, businesses, professional associations, and more. The Festival actively seeks ways to bring STEM to underserved communities such as girls, minorities, and those with disabilities. For example, the STEM of Many Colors events are organized to encourage minority students to take a greater interest in STEM and consider STEM careers. STEM professionals and educators from minority communities will make presentations to inspire these students. In addition, the Festival holds numerous events dedicated to girls, such as its High School Girl Military STEM Career Night and Middle School Girl STEM Empowerment program.
