Do Greater Charlotte exists to ignite and build creative confidence in youth through training in design thinking, entrepreneurship and creative technologies enabling them to become innovative problem-solvers and leaders in their communities.
About This Cause
Do Greater Foundation, Inc. (Do Greater Charlotte) is a nonprofit in Charlotte, NC empowering communities to do greater by facilitating exposure and access to creativity, technology, and entrepreneurship. Funded by donors, grants, and events, we create a culture of caring that expands access to opportunities across our entire community. We focus on entrepreneurial and creative education within underserved communities in Charlotte and our programs prepare learners for the future with tools and training made possible through partnerships with professional creative community mentors. Do Greater Charlotte operates a creative community space for youth in the neighborhood of Camp Greene, Ashley Park, and FreeMoreWest. In partnership with Shiloh Institutional Baptist Church, we have turned an 8000 square foot space in their basement into a co-learning/co-working space for youth. The new CRTV (Creative) Lab at Shiloh. This new physical space has become a multi-use co-learning space for youth with a maker lab, classrooms, collaborative events, and hangout spaces. The Lab brings small groups of peers together to learn key skills in technology, design, and entrepreneurship through mentorship and programs. It's become a hub of learning that will train the next generation of creative entrepreneurs for good.
