About This Cause

Our Vision Everyone takes daily brain health steps to improve their life. Our Values 1) Accessible for brain health Our education and counsel is free of charge because our founders and donors believe what we offer is priceless. It’s our commitment to nurture, sustain and expand our brain health services for all. 2) Experts in brain health Founded by physicians, we commit to sharing the most current, verified, science-based information and tools to assist in advancing the brain health of our region. 3) Passionate about brain health Some would say we’re down-right relentless in our pursuit of brain health. Our belief in positive change drives us to lead a brain-health movement for Northeastern Wisconsin to become the most brain-healthy region in the nation! 4) Caring for brain health Our team provides services and innovative solutions that range from one-on-one counsel to group education. All we do is centered around supporting you and your brain health with care, compassion and understanding. The Brain Center of Green Bay is a high impact, free community resource center offering a lifelong approach to brain health and disease prevention. The center is proud to be available to all - no matter age, gender, access to medical care, or ability to pay. Our programs and services are organized around the science of the 6 Pillars of Brain Health: 1) High quality foods and nutrition 2) Physical exercise 3) Restorative sleep 4) Stress management 5) Cognitive stimulation 6) Avoidance of illness, injury and toxins Programs The Brain Center of Green Bay’s outreach and education programming is composed of both a Coaching Program and a Community Program. The Brain Center’s Coaching Program is a partnership between the client, his/her care partner(s) and a Brain Center coach. Behavioral scientists have shown that one-on-one coaching is among the most effective ways to help people make and sustain improvements. Core coaching components include research-informed brain wellness education and risk reduction strategies (6 Pillars of Brain Health), injury prevention, and goal setting based on the individual's unique needs, experiences and abilities. Clients of the Brain Center may be challenged with a diagnosed disease process or condition. Or they may connect with the Center proactively due to a known family history of disease or as a general resource for brain health and disease prevention. Coaches provide a “brave space” for individuals to ask questions, get connected and feel understood. The Brain Center remains available to individuals and families for as many or few coaching sessions necessary. This is important as neurodegenerative diseases are progressive and needs, challenges and symptoms change over time. The Brain Center’s Community Program is an array of community presentations that highlight the key habits and protective measures that promote healthy aging and help maintain good cognitive health. The Brain Center has become a trusted local leader on brain health and resources. Our volunteer coaches and educators meet each week to “research the research” and discuss the latest developments in an effort to provide the community the most accurate and current information. This in-house research aids in the creation of our annual presentation menu. Topics are ever-changing as we look to provide a variety of brain health topics applicable to all ages, and groups and generations.
