Mission Statement
Young people everywhere have the right to be happy and to live a peaceful, carefree lifestyle. They should be able to come together without worrying about what’s going on around them. They should have the opportunity to travel and have sleepovers with friends. They should have a sense of security and contentment, not of being frightened and alone. In reality, there should be nothing in the way that destroys their innocence or prevents them from fulfilling their dreams. Although a major area of our concern, youngsters who are being targeted by society, neglected in other areas, or overlooked are just a portion of the youths The Hattie Allen Foundation, Inc. is committed to reaching. That child who is desperate for something more; the kid who’s afraid to walk home from school because another kid seeks to cause him harm, and those who dread going home because of what awaits on the other side of the door are also concerning. Though not as obvious to the naked eye, these kids are in just a greater need for a positive outlet. Founded by community and youth advocate, Hattie Allen, The Foundation is a community based non-profit organization serves to break and destroy barriers and build positive pathways for young people to travel. Our goals are to increase awareness and raise funding for personal development and multi-cultural programs and offer incentives for our participants in South Florida with a mission to motivate, educate, and inspire them to realize and exceed their potential in spite of life’s challenging circumstances. With the interest and financial support of both the private and public sectors, we strive to edify, and make stronger, the spirit of the youths in our communities. We encourage innovative programs and services that will benefit and give hope to young people, with the belief that they will increase their self-esteem and reach their full potential. Through intervention, and prevention, education, recreation, and the arts, we seek to enrich and empower the lives of youths that will ultimately lead them along a path toward a positive, healthy, and a successful lifestyle. As members of The Hattie Allen Foundation, Inc., we realize that in order to see an improvement, we must lead, direct, and guide with diligence. We take this responsibility seriously as it is our duty and obligation to do so.
About This Cause
The Hattie Allen Foundation, Inc. provides an array of activities and services within the black communities to help empower, build, grow, sustain, and expose youth to the many opportunities beyond their current surrounding. The Hattie Allen Foundation, Inc. gives back packs and school supplies to more than two hundred youth each year for school. The Hattie Allen Foundation, Inc. also provides an annual turkey giveaway to more than fifty underserved families in the community. The Hattie Allen Foundation, Inc. also provides toys for children who are underserved at its annual Hattie Allen Foundation Toy Giveaway.
