Mission Statement
The Ed Asner Family Center’s mission is to promote self-confidence in differently-abled individuals and bring balance and wellness to those individuals and their families by providing them Acceptance, Enrichment & Support.
About This Cause
The Ed Asner Family Center offers inclusive day camps, expressive arts and vocational enrichment programs for all abilities at our center, six days a week, as well as, health and wellness classes. We also offer low cost mental health counseling and group counseling services with our highly trained therapists. Starting in 2023 we are launching the Adult Day Program! These classes and sessions promote self- confidence and balance, something that will translate in all areas in life, including an area that needs much attention in the disability world; employment. Over 80% of individuals with a cognitive disability are unemployed or underemployed. At The Ed Asner Family Center, we do not only cater to the needs of the neurodivergent individual. We aim to enroll the complete family and community, to help them meet the challenges they face with grace. What is Offered at The Ed Asner Family Center? We offer arts and career advancement programs, as well as counseling and mindfulness classes. These classes and sessions help promote self-confidence and balance. Something that translates into all areas of life, including an area that needs much attention in the neurodiversity world, employment.
