Resilient Futures exists to cultivate radically inclusive, compassionate, and empowered communities through trauma-informed, equity-centered work designed to drive sustainable change.
About This Cause
Resilient Futures creates and guides the implementation of trauma-informed, equity-centered programming with healing at the forefront. We empower partners with the knowledge of how trauma presents in children and adults, offering strategies that meet trauma responses with empathy and understanding. We define ‘resilience’ as the capacity to grow & thrive, with strength and tenacity in the face of trauma and oppression for both individuals and communities. Our work advances the narrative around personal and systemic trauma through an equity lens, bringing it to the foreground of community conversation and strengthening our capacity to grow as individuals while advocating for sustainable change. Trauma-informed systems and organizations are based on an understanding of the vulnerabilities or reminders of trauma that historic approaches may exacerbate. Our programs help to increase awareness of trauma - race-based and otherwise, facilitate behavior change, and develop necessary skills and tools to respond differently to trauma to sustain long-term positive outcomes.
