Mission Statement
The Dream Big Scholarship Fund is dedicated to helping prepare our youth for the future on a social, educational and financial level. DBSF empowers youth to achieve their higher education goals and fulfill their leadership potential by providing them with tuition support and equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities they need to gain entry to higher education and succeed in college and beyond.
About This Cause
The Dream Big Scholarship Fund, Inc. (DBSF) was established in 2018 by a former educator and CEO of The B Michele Branding Agency Michele Thomas for the purpose of impacting the community and help students fulfill their dreams. The foundation is the non-profit, charitable arm of the Dream Big Networking Mixer an official Dream Week Event that has been inexistence since 2014. In previous years we have donated the proceeds to the MLK Scholarship Fund. The foundation’s philanthropic aims focus on raising monies for scholarships, as well as, organizing and conducting community education programs. The Foundation’s 501(c)(3) status was secured in 2018. The foundation is responsible for: the disbursement of academic scholarships to exceptional San Antonio-area youth; the execution of educational programs geared towards entrepreneurship, financial literacy and social action and mentoring. • Entrepreneur Camp – Provide students with an opportunity to learn and receive real world experience of an entrepreneur. • Money Talks Program – The foundation partners with local financial entities ie banks, financial planners and investment firms to provide workshops to educate and empower youth to make good financial planning and money management decision • Be the Change- Collect change on a quarterly basis at several different events to include a 24hr Change-A Thon. All change collected will be used to provide uniforms, schools supplies and vouchers for educator’s
