Mission Statement
Our mission is to support independent filmmaking and provide financial and filmmaking resources to two overlapping groups: burgeoning independent filmmakers and filmmakers from underserved and underprivileged communities. We will offer film financing awards to winners in the user community.
About This Cause
DCP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by American Zoetrope, the iconic film company first started by Francis Ford Coppola in 1969. DCP supports aspiring filmmakers and filmmakers from underrepresented and underserved communities. We are an online platform that offers financing awards of various sizes from our film fund to our user community. Users can submit their projects by paying a submission fee in our token called FilmCredit, which will automatically pay out the rest of our community for rating and reviewing their projects. Through this review process, certain projects will rise to the top, and our board members will select a winner in each competition. If users cannot afford the submission fee, they can earn FilmCredits by reviewing the projects that others have submitted, and eventually have enough to submit their own project.
