Mission Statement
JDW is the only non-profit organization in Massachusetts and surrounding states providing divorce care, educational programming, and a critical support system to single women and mothers, free of charge. Since 2016, JDW has been offering vital support to divorcing women and mothers during a time of emotional upheaval and financial hardship. By serving women, JDW contributes to the health and prosperity of our communities.
About This Cause
Jane Does Well is a 501c3 charity providing free support, information, empowerment and connection to women undergoing or having gone through divorce. The financial, legal and childrearing complexities of divorce—alongside the emotional turmoil—is extremely difficult for many women to overcome. Many women and mothers experience a devastating chain of events including: • A 23-50% decline in household income and a greater poverty risk • An increase in childcaring needs and services • An increased rate of anxiety and depression (including children of divorce) The Jane Does Well, an inspiring and empowering community serving over 2200 women in Massachusetts and surrounding states, welcomes women of any stage, ethnicity, socioeconomic background, religion or any other affiliation. Jane Does Well provides over 45 programs per month including various structured and drop-in emotional support groups, parent education, legal and financial education and resources, and personal development workshops. We offer women the strength and confidence needed to recover from divorce, build strong families and lead fulfilling, independent lives. Jane Does Well also conducts research on women and children's issues and searches for practical solutions to make a positive difference in the lives of women and children.
