Mission Statement

Existing to marry sound and word in all possible permutations, Fonograf publishes works influenced by language and literature. Each release is available in multiple formats, with a particular focus on the tangible artifact, be it a book or record. Through the hosting of events and performances, Fonograf additionally hopes to cultivate the performative aspect of all language, whether at a concert, poetry reading or community forum.

About This Cause

A 501(c)(3) non-profit, Fonograf Editions is literary record label and press. Devoted to bringing literary-influenced albums and musically-influenced books to both print and audio formats, Fonograf is one of the only entities of its kind in the U.S. The press has published both Pulitzer Prize winners and younger up and coming writers, and received press and acclaim in The Paris Review, Poets & Writers and PBS Newshour, among other venues.
