Mission Statement
The purpose for which PNWCC is organized is to enrich the lives of all persons and communities through the play, study, and appreciation of the game of chess. PNWCC is organized exclusively for charitable, cultural and educational purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as an exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
About This Cause
The activities shall include, but shall not be limited to - • Provide a meeting place for chess players and chess related activities • Organize chess tournaments, unrated or rated by NWRS/USCF/FIDE • Organize fund raising events for the Center • Provide chess scholarships to chess players and sponsor chess events held in Pacific Northwest area (WA, OR, ID and BC) that are organized by non-profit organizations such as WCF and OCF • Devote all profits accruing to the PNWCC to the above purposes.
