Mission Statement
Greenbrier Valley Aquatic Center's mission is to provide a safe, kind, inclusive, and educational environment for all members of and visitors to our community; a clean modern facility with caring staff in which to experience the joy and benefits of aquatic activities. We are committed to community collaboration and growth through promoting water safety, holistic fitness and wellness, and recreational enjoyment.
About This Cause
GVAC has been a vital resource for the Greenbrier Valley community since April 2022. We provide safe, year-round indoor swimming facilities and a wide range of activities, from swim lessons and water aerobics to lifeguard training and event hosting. Wellness and Prevention • Increasing access to exercise activity including a need-based scholarship program which currently supports 20% of members • Promoting youth safety, physical activity, and achievement through swim lessons and a competitive swim team • Additional programming including water aerobics, and access for individuals with physical disabilities Community and Purpose • Opportunities for social engagement include a senior lounge that hosts book clubs, an event room, and a classroom currently used by after-school groups and for CPR/First Aid/Lifeguard training • Meaningful employment for local youth • Building intergenerational connections through play, shared interests, and programming
