Mission Statement
Pure Momentum Group (PMG) is an innovative 501(c)(3) organization that exists to organize, primarily through the vehicle of comprehensive athletic experiences, a positive environment contributing to an improved quality of life for youth and their families across the Central Florida area. Our overarching goal is to turn spare time into time well spent for young people in our community. Central to our work is the fundamental belief that all children and adolescents should receive the supports they need and deserve, including consistent and caring relationships with adults. PMG was established in 2018 with the intention to organize a safe and enriching environment contributing to an improved quality of life for youth and families in the Central Florida area. Our organization’s projects emphasize character development that can change kids from the inside out. Supporting the development of self-confidence, leadership abilities, good judgment, and character, we provide many “at-hope” young people with a thorough foundation for success. Individual empowerment and self-determination are part of our organization’s core values. Supporting youth in the areas of academic performance, mental health awareness, extracurricular participation, community involvement, and personal responsibility, we are dedicated to helping each young person reach his or her individual potential by encouraging a belief in personal responsibility, instilling habits of hard work, and demonstrating passionate commitment to excellence. We teach character matters. Initially focused on youth sports training, since our inception the suite of services delivered from our state-of-the-art facility in Sanford, Florida, has grown to include holistic initiatives through which we introduce wisdom, values, and supports that helps uplift each participant's quality of life. This well-coordinated effort of services is based in extracurricular youth sports, and builds upon that foundation by offering mentoring, tutoring, college and career counseling, and life skills development. Through our flagship sports program, we offer low cost to no cost participation in competitive youth athletics for families who otherwise would not be able to afford to take part. Importantly, we do this without an embarrassing or invasive application process, preserving the dignity of these deserving families. We also offer social service initiatives that support the family as a whole- such as job search and placement assistance and food and clothing aid, which are essential to ensuring the success of traditionally marginalized youth.
About This Cause
The primary goal of Pure Momentum Group is to close the mentoring gap for the 1 in 3 children who lack access to structured mentoring. In doing so, we will transform the lives of young people and to provide them with the opportunity to pursue education and to live a high quality of life. Through our proposed programs, we aspire to: ▪ Remove barriers to successful academic involvement. ▪ Encourage youth to live a healthy life style through fitness programs, education, and mentoring. ▪ Support youth with college and career focused programs. ▪ Provide resources for training and development of youth. ▪ Reinforce positive behavior. ▪ Stimulate self-motivation and self-discipline for personal, academic, and athletic excellence. ▪ Build long-standing partnerships with other community-based organizations community that share the same vision. Pure Momentum Group specializes in the development and exposure for student athletes, along with equipping our young men and women with the social skills needed to be leaders and well-rounded productive members of society. We accomplish this goal through a combination of intense specialized training sessions led by experienced and passionate staff who understand that positive reinforcement is the key to motivating young people to succeed. Our activities are aimed at developing our athletes holistically, and allowing them to compete against the best competition possible. Our program is centered around consistency and devotion to getting better each day. Pure Momentum offers youth of all ages and genders the opportunity to train in a variety of sports while receiving ongoing tutoring, mentoring, and familial support. Above all, we believe that character matters, and that a person’s actions and words are determined by their internal values and character. Therefore, if we can instruct children in how to build in themselves thoughts and motives that are right, good, and true, actions that are right, good, and true will follow. Students are taught that they are responsible for the athlete they become, the student they become, and ultimately the person they become. Kids will learn that they can be capable, competent, and productive in the endeavors that they have chosen to undertake. Participants learn how to cherish and enhance the lives that they have been given. We teach them how to take care of and exercise their minds, bodies, and spirits. In addition, we seek to turn children into their own “coach” in athletics, activity, education, and life.
