Mission Statement
To equip and empower generations through Christ.
About This Cause
We work to accomplish our mission by focusing on four key areas: youth development, adults & family programs, community development & mentoring. Youth development includes after-school programs for students in K4-12th grade, tutoring, year-round meal program, enrichment classes in literary arts, visual arts, dance, boxing, gardening, cooking, hiking, STEM, music, photography, podcasting, and more. We have monthly off-site trips and events, summer camps, a student leadership development program, and community service opportunities. Adult & family programs include a food bank, paper product bank, wholistic women's health programs, fitness, sewing, and cooking classes, as well as classes in such topics as parenting, finances, and budgeting. We also have a Communicycle program which provides children and adults with bikes and teaches them how to maintain and fix bikes. Community development entails partnering with other organizations, businesses, schools, and churches to help build up the community and provide needed resources, such as eye, dental and medical care, mental health care, and recovery groups. We are in the final stages of opening a thrift store to provide jobs, affordable clothing, and job training. Mentoring is incorporated throughout all of our programs for children and adults. However, we have two specific mentoring programs. Peer mentoring matches one high school student with one child age 4-7 years in a site-based weekly program. Community-based one-to-one mentoring in partnership with Family Guidance matches one child age 7-14 years with one adult. These matches meet in the community at various times.
