Mission Statement
Helping an underserved rural community by providing charitable, educational and scientific holistic health and wellness services to overcome mental health stigma, promote healthier lifestyles, and reduce the frequency and intensity of physical and mental illnesses.
About This Cause
Project Wellness is helping under-served rural Juniata County, PA and its surrounding communities. We provide charitable and educational holistic health and wellness services to combat mental health stigma and promote healthier lifestyles for both adults and children. We aspire to reduce the frequency and intensity of symptoms associated with mental and physical illnesses. We also aspire to reduce dependency on pharmaceutical medications and ameliorate the use of addictive substances. We plan to accomplish this mission by supporting our community in learning to use more internal (person-centered) resources and reduce dependency on external resources (medications and managed care resources). Currently, Project Wellness donates the following services to the community or offers them at a significantly reduced cost. Many of the funds donated to Project Wellness are used to offset the fees for the following services: *Equine-assisted therapy and learning *Yoga *Mindful Self-Compassion Workshops *Wellness Groups *Health Coaching *Massage Therapy *Reflexology *Fitness Classes *Meditation Classes *Reiki
