Mission Statement

Biodesign Challenge (BDC) is a nonprofit interdisciplinary education program that gives students the opportunity to envision sustainable and equitable futures using art, design, and biotechnology. BDC's goals are to prepare young designers to work with emerging biotech; to build collaborations across art, design, and biology; and to foster public dialogue about the impacts of new biotechnologies.

About This Cause

Biodesign Challenge is an education program and competition that is shaping the first generation of biodesigners. We partner high school and university students with scientists, artists, and designers to envision, create, and critique transformational applications in biotech.
