Kentucky Civic Engagement Table coordinates and supports grassroots movements in building organized people power and communities of care that lead to an equitable and thriving Commonwealth for all Kentuckians.
About This Cause
Kentucky Civic Engagement Table is a multi-racial statewide network of over thirty 501c3 organizations. Our partners range from statewide to local organizations that share values of social, racial, economic, and environmental justice, and their constituencies include rural, small town, and urban Kentuckians across the Commonwealth. We believe that working with our partner organizations to build a bigger base of people around our shared values, with a focus on empowering underrepresented and disenfranchised Kentuckians, is essential to realizing healthier representation and policy outcomes that better reflect the needs of our communities. KCET supports our growing coalition with grants, trainings, digital tools, data, and coordination. We center strategies that work improves the quality of life for Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), LGBTQIA+, immigrants, refugees, returning citizens, poor and working class, and young Kentuckians. Understanding racial and gender justice skills, learning to practice them daily, and building systems where many people can practice them together will build the collective power we need to protect each other and labor for a better world. This is the work of social justice organizing, base-building, and community creation.
