SELAH NEIGHBORHOOD HOMELESS COALITION

LOS ANGELES, California, 90039 United States

Mission Statement

Our vision is a community where every neighbor thrives. Our mission is to build a community-led response to homelessness in Los Angeles that addresses the needs of our most vulnerable neighbors and activates an empowered coalition of participants, volunteers and partners.

About This Cause

SELAH Neighborhood Homeless Coalition provides on the ground outreach to persons experiencing homelessness in an area of LA that has few services available. We offer compassion and supplies. In addition, we advocate for those who are especially vulnerable by working directly with service providers and our elected representatives. We are an all-volunteer coalition, formed by members who live in the communities we serve. Our programs include: - Weekly engagement and outreach to people experiencing homelessness - Hot meals for the food insecure -Service desk connecting our neighbors to government services (DMV ID Vouchers, Social Security Cards, EBT, Etc...) - Education and trainings around homelessness - Clothing and material aid drives - Advocacy for emergency services and facilities - Connecting individuals with service providers In addition to our ongoing programs, we are leading efforts to bring showers, homeless service centers, safe parking sites, and bridge housing to our area. SELAH currently operates in Silver Lake, Echo Park, Los Feliz, Atwater, and Hollywood. All of these neighborhoods are underserved by existing city and county homeless services.
