Mission Statement

A Movement That Unifies Our Community To Meet Our Greatest Needs In Restoring The Good That God Intends

About This Cause

Crossed BRIDGES’ mission is to unify the community to meet our greatest needs to restore the good that God intends; which is vital with increasing polarity in politics, racial, and religious groups. Crossed BRIDGES true uniqueness is that we compliment, not compete with well-established organizations. We have been very successfully at developing collaborative partnerships with county healthcare organizations, behavioral health and substance abuse providers, Frederick County Public Schools, churches and religious coalitions, private and public clubs, municipalities, and law enforcement. Crossed Bridges Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization established in 2018 by Jonathan and Carol Switzer; who each dedicate 60-70 hours a week to improving the quality of life in Frederick County. In a short time, Crossed Bridges has experienced accelerated growth in its program initiatives, strategic partnerships, and staffing of over 100 community volunteers. Mr. Switzer routinely convinces key leaders of businesses and nonprofit organizations to unify their efforts for the good of Frederick County’s constituents. Our highly motivated board includes: a patent company executive, a 400-person multi-church men’s ministry leader, including many in recovery, a local tech entrepreneur, innovator and leader, the local Arts Festival leader, an international Insurance Company owner, and a retired rescue mission leader. We are very excited about our initiatives. First, Frederick County Goes Purple is a A grassroots call to action to unify and educate our Frederick County community to reduce substance-related deaths and overdoses. This massive community-wide observance takes place during National Recovery Month in September with ongoing training throughout the year. Frederick County supports those in active addiction, recovery, and their loved ones; offers hope and resources; and invests in the future of its youth through prevention education. WHY PURPLE ? National Recovery Month in September is associated with the color purple. The entire community is encouraged to “go purple” and obtain training to bring awareness and understanding of mental health and substance use disorders, and to celebrate those living in recovery. We are also very excited about our CarePortal initiative. This online portal connects Department of Social Services and several additional service providers to volunteers in real time from local businesses, churches and non-profits. Nationally, CarePortal has been used to meet over 29 million worth of needs for over 89,000 children. In Frederick, CarePortal started when Covid hit and in less than a year met the needs of over 580 children. Crossed Bridges continues to identify places where the community can work together. They went with a group of local leaders to Loveland, Colorado to view the Life Center best practices model of unified response to those in crisis, including homelessness, food and housing insecurity and addiction recovery. Is Frederick ripe for this? Crossed Bridges mission is to unify the community to meet our greatest needs to restore the good that God intends. We are committed to treating those in need and those serving with honor, to working collaboratively with the community for transformational goals.
