Mission Statement
We envision a world where everyone is safe around water and has equitable access to best-in-class aquatic centers that are vibrant places of pride and inclusive for all. Our mission is to build healthier, stronger, and safer communities by creating equitable access to aquatic facilities and programs that build essential life skills, inclusion, connection, and active lifestyles. SPLASHForward is a community advocacy group, an aquatics thought leader, and a private funding vehicle spearheading the advocacy efforts to bring a public world class sustainable regional aquatics center and satellite facilities to the Eastside. We aim to go beyond meeting the aquatics and wellness needs of the community. We envision an accessible, culturally inclusive, operationally efficient and vibrant hub built on a foundation of lasting local partnerships for many generations to come. Our advocacy serves the broad aquatic needs for a full range of fitness, recreation, health, wellness, and competitive aquatics programs for all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
About This Cause
SPLASHForward is spearheading the effort to bring a regional aquatic center and satellite facilities to our communities. Initial efforts are working in partnership with the City of Bellevue, the Bellevue School District, King County, our regional partners, and community organizations. SplashForward’s role is to advocate, engage stakeholders, build public-private partnerships, and identify funding opportunities including private, city, state and national sources through individuals, corporations, and grants. We are supporting local and regional efforts including King County’s Regional Aquatics working group composed of Bellevue, Redmond and Kirkland. We look to extend our advocacy to assist other projects and initiatives bringing deep regional aquatics knowledge and thought leadership. Though analytical research with local and national aquatics facilities we have the numbers and best practice guidance on how aquatics facilities can be operationally sustainable and work in partnership with our communities. We welcome your input and involvement to make everyone's aquatic dreams a reality.
