Courageous Healing, Inc. is on a mission to facilitate healing through culturally-centered mental health services.
About This Cause
Courageous Healing is building a world where BIPOC communities have access to exceptional and culturally-centered mental health care. The business grew out of co-founders Aaron and Janell Lane's background in mental health, social work, and organizational leadership. As Mental Health professionals in Fort Wayne, IN, Aaron and Janell saw the need for culturally competent mental health services in the city - services designed for people of color and, specifically, the Southeast neighborhoods where they grew up. They wanted to serve the community they love with accessible counseling and holistic health services so they opened the doors of a brick-and-mortar healing center in May 2021 particularly during a year when these services are in high demand. With a team of seven therapists of color, Courageous Healing offers individual, couples, and family therapy as well as therapeutic psychoeducational groups. This year, the company is focused on stabilizing while meeting key objectives and securing funding allows for stability to offer high-quality mental health services to those who need most and maintain a healthy and vibrant team of therapists and staff. As a result, everyone's quality of life is improved. Thanks to the donors, the organization, Courageous Healing has been able to offer therapy on a sliding fee scale and at no cost for individuals and families who are uninsured, underinsured, and who demonstrate financial need in Allen County.
