About This Cause
Addressing social determinants of health is a critical component of a healthcare system that is still often overlooked. DAWA (Diversity Awareness and Wellness in Action) Fund addresses many of these social determinants of health by providing direct financial assistance to people who often do not have a social safety net to catch them when a life’s storms. DAWA, an innovative initiative based in Austin, TX, uniquely focuses on supporting musicians, artists, social workers, teachers, integrative healing practitioners, healthcare, hospitality and service industry workers.
