About This Cause
Addressing climate change is one of the biggest challenges of our lifetime. The great news is many are waking up to the problem and want to help. However, they often don’t know where to start or focus. There is great information out there, but they are not always easy to find and apply. And that’s why we exist! Earth Hero is creating a new generation of climate activists by making it easy to act on the climate emergency. We do so with our free globally available app that meets people where they are, clears the path for them, and targets efforts on the most impactful actions that drive lasting change. We help people improve their lives, along with their family, friends, and communities, by achieving climate actions. When people are ready to go further, we facilitate connections so they can join with others to transform systems. The world needs scalable ways to create new climate activists and support them, and Earth Hero fills that role. The Earth Hero app helps make it easy for people to act on the climate emergency in two fundamental ways: 1) Provides a curated list of practical actions and tips on how to achieve them. Users can discover ones that are relevant to them and decide how they want to act, encouraging ownership. Actions are prioritized by impact (grounded in scientific studies and modeling), with an emphasis on the ones that drive scalable, systematic, and cultural transformation. A fun, interactive app experience encourages engagement and supports progress. 2) Help people connect with others to team up and push for changes in their communities. That includes matching people with local climate activism groups (XR, 350, Elders Climate Action, CRP, CCL, Climate Changemakers, etc.) and helping connect friends/families/co-workers/local community group members to work together to address climate change. All of this is done in a positive, engaging, and scientific manner to build credibility and engage people to keep progressing on their climate journey.
