Mission Statement

We envision an equitable Lancaster County where all of us live courageous, full, and authentic lives. Our mission is to build supportive and enriching opportunities for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex and Asexual individuals, along with others who identify with the LGBTQ+ community

About This Cause

On February 9, 2019 we gathered for our first community stakeholder meeting to discuss the needs for the LGBTQ+ community in Lancaster County. In July we secured start-up funds, obtained our 501(c)(3), and began leasing our headquarters. We started nine different community groups, held Lancaster’s first LGBTQ+ Town Hall with our local reps., and partnered with healthcare practitioners and the Keystone Business Alliance to build community partnerships. We also held cultural sensitivity training for LGH, United Way, and Two Dudes Painting by November of 2019. The volunteer-led Coalition and community members hosted fundraisers, ran programming, staffed our office, and organized events. Our "Queer We Are!" launch party at Tellus360 on November 12th connected over 350 attendees and 15 local businesses in support of the Lancaster LGBTQ+ community. Our community rallied during the Extraordinary Give—we received over $35,000 from over 530 individual donors! Since then we have been creating community partnerships to tackle issues such as access to dignified healthcare, affirming and affordable shelters and retirement communities and spaces where all intersections of our community feel heard and at home.
