Mission Statement

We seek to increase the capacity to care for people and create positive changes for our county's residents through funding local agencies and by working in community partnerships.

About This Cause

We achieve our mission to create positive changes through a three-tiered approach. This approach includes Collective Impact, known as Growing Together, Funding to local nonprofits, through Allocations and Small Grants, and Volunteer Coordination. Collective impact is a model that brings communities together through cross sector collaboration. UWMC created a Collective Impact Initiative in 2020 with the aim of creating social change in the top 4 priority areas in Morgan County. AFFORDABLE HOUSING, AFFORDABLE CHILDCARE, ACCESS TO FOOD AND ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE. Allocations is our annual funding opportunity available to our Partner Agencies (17 local nonprofits providing services in the areas of Health, Education and Financial Stability) Our grants include a series of small funding available to any eligible nonprofit. $5,000 and below. Volunteer software hosted on UWMC’s website to provide volunteer information, registration, and logged hours online and Corporate Volunteer Days provide group experiences for our local businesses to give back to our community. We offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities and coordinate the entire experience to encourage philanthropic engagement within the business community.
