MSU Denver’s mission is to provide high-quality, accessible, enriching education that prepares students for successful careers, postgraduate education, and lifelong learning in a multicultural, global, and technological society. To fulfill its mission, MSU Denver’s diverse University community engages the greater Denver community in scholarly inquiry, creative activity, and the application of knowledge. By fulfilling this mission, MSU Denver envisions a future as a national leader of social mobility, where students of all ages and backgrounds build a better, more equitable Colorado through innovative and transformative education.
About This Cause
Metropolitan State University of Denver is the only public, four-year, open-access university in the state, playing a vital role in helping all Coloradans pursue their dreams of an education, career, and all the benefits of having a college degree. An engaged Urban University, MSU Denver offers bachelor's and master's degrees on the Auraria Campus in downtown Denver while promoting a mutual relationship between the university and community. 95% of MSU Denver students are from Colorado, and 79% stay in the state after graduating. This, in conjunction with the University's $703.4 million annual economic impact, demonstrate MSU Denver's commitment to education as a tool for transformative socioeconomic change. MSU Denver is also a leader in diversity, equity, and inclusion, with over half of students identifying as people of color and being designated a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) in 2019.
