About This Cause
Longmont Humane Society (LHS) is an open admission facility with a mission of caring, serving and educating to improve the lives of companion animals. LHS serves the City of Longmont, the towns of Frederick, Firestone, Dacono, Lyons and Mead as well as greater Boulder County. LHS believes it is important to set, measure and communicate organizational goals. In doing so, we have engaged staff and the Board of Directors to execute a strategic plan focusing on the sustainability of our organization for the 2019-2021 timeframe. We are a 501(c)3 private, non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of animals. We provide temporary shelter to thousands of animals every year: dogs, cats, small mammals and birds who are lost, abandoned, or surrendered. Loving attention, nutritious food, meticulous health care and daily exercise are standard parts of the high-quality care provided to each animal.
