Mission Statement
Lake Eldora Race Team Association is a nonprofit youth program focusing on winter alpine sports (Eldora Mountain Ski and Snowboard Club - skiing, snowboarding, and freestyle), and summer youth mountain bike camps, through Singletrack Mountain Bike Adventures. LERT strives to build champions in sports and in life through activities that build character, integrity, work ethic, and a strong sense of core values. Many athletes have further taken the skills on to regional, national and international stages, competing in arenas around the world. From grassroots development, to National Champions and Olympians, athletes learn the necessary tools to apply to success in life and future endeavors.
About This Cause
Lake Eldora Race Team (LERT), provides youth opportunities through Eldora Mountain Ski and Snowboard Club (EMSC), and Singletrack Mountain Bike Adventures (SMBA). As a nonprofit organization, LERT is reliant upon successful partnerships, fundraisers, sponsorships and donations, to further support a viable model for athletes participation. Scholarship funding is a critical component to the LERT model to further provide opportunities for athletes to participate in winter and summer programming options. LERT was founded in 1975, and Singletrack Mountain Bike Adventures was created in 1993, in which both organizations strive to create opportunities for athletes to achieve athletic excellence, and ignite a life-long passion for outdoor sports, recreation and enjoyment. LERT works with athletes of diverse abilities, and further recognizes the importance of leadership and community stewardship. LERT athletes participate and volunteer at the local homeless shelter preparing and serving meals, volunteer at the community garden picking vegetables, work on trail crew projects, and volunteer with special Olympics and the local autism program teaching kids how to ride bikes. The power of mentorship, "giving back", and performing at your best is a common theme that resonates throughout the entire fabric of the organization's mission. At the end of the day it is about helping each individual and athletes be the best they can be, through character building experiences, tenacity, hard work and fun.
