Mission Statement

The Pueblo Child Advocacy Center (PCAC) was established in 1986 to provide a coordinated, multidisciplinary and humane approach to the problem of child abuse. The welcoming, safe atmosphere at the PCAC puts children at ease, increases the effectiveness of the investigative process and greatly reduces the trauma to children during the investigation. The mission is to provide prevention education and a safe environment for the investigation of child abuse.

About This Cause

The Pueblo Child Advocacy Center (PCAC) provides a multidisciplinary approach with a group of professionals who represent various disciplines and works collaboratively to assure the most effective coordinated response to child abuse cases. Representatives include members from law enforcement, child protective services, prosecution, medical, mental health, victim advocacy, and child advocacy center staff. PCAC provides a child-focused setting designed to provide a safe and comfortable place where forensic interviews, medical exams, and ongoing victim advocacy and support services can be provided for children and their non-offending families or caregivers. PCAC serves over 300 children in southeastern Colorado each year. PCAC is a fully accredited facility by the National Children's Alliance as our agency assures the highest standard of care for victims in Pueblo County. Other counties PCAC serves includes Crowley, Bent, Baca, Huerfano, Chaffee, Kiowa, Fremont, Las Animas, Custer, Park, Otero, Prowers.
