Mission Statement

The Jackson Hole Kayak Club provides all with the opportunity to enjoy the waterways of the greater Yellowstone ecosystem through youth programs, competitive events, conservation, and education.

About This Cause

Established in 1996 as 501(c) 3 Non-Profit Organization, the Jackson Hole Kayak Club has been providing river paddling opportunities to Jackson’s youth since 1996. Each year, athletes ages 8-18 experience the beauty, excitement and importance of our waterways through the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. With a focus on fun and safety, we create an environment where young athletes can utilize the sport of kayaking as a vehicle for self discovery and dynamic decision making. We help young people explore river environments, building skills and confidence to last a lifetime. The Jackson Hole Kayak Club works hard to remain one of the most affordable and accessible summer programs in Teton County. Leveraging partnerships with other community organizations, we provide low-cost and no-cost options to traditional underserved youth populations. Over the years, our participants have gone on to become accomplished river travelers and explorers, world class whitewater kayakers, earn college and graduate degrees in river dynamics and conservation, and lead restoration and conservation projects throughout the country. We are truly a one-of-a-kind youth program and an exemplar of how to engage a broad spectrum of public land users in recreation, education and stewardship.
