About This Cause
Mesa County RSVP Inc. is the largest volunteer management agency 501(C)(3) in Mesa County for volunteers 55 and older partnering with 60+ agencies in need of volunteers. Mesa County RSVP’s Focus Areas: Healthy Futures includes transportation to medical appointments, Medicare health benefits coaching, health education, home food delivery, and food bank support. Education includes tutoring, mentoring, school readiness, and student engagement. Economic Opportunity includes housing infrastructure, home repair, and tax counseling. Emergency Response includes local disaster response. RSVP recruits and screens volunteers for agencies providing these services. The RSVP Senior Scholar Project tutors K-12 children in both public and private schools; the RSVP Handyman Project volunteers complete home-repair projects helping low-to-moderate income clients maintain their homes and their independence; the RSVP Senior Health Insurance Assistance Project (SHIP) volunteers helps Medicare-eligible clients with their health insurance issues.
