Mission Statement

To inspire and mobilize the American Beiyinu alumnae to support the advancement of our alma mater and philanthropy. (Empowering Women & Girls From Taipei First Girls High School.)

About This Cause

American Beiyinu Alumnae Foundation ("ABAF") was founded as a 501(C)3 organization as of 5/31/2019. ABAF’s objectives are to raise funds for: (1) alma mater's facilities and technology development; (2) the advancement of curriculum and programs to enhance students and alumnae' global vision and competitiveness via mentoring, leadership and communication skills development, career advice and networking. • 9/14/2019 – ABAF launched the fundraising campaign for the Guang Fu Building Restoration Project at the AATFGH-SoCal’s Annual Luncheon. Almost 100 alumnae and friends pledged over $30,000 that day and in the days that followed. • 9/22/2019 – ABAF kicked off the Mentoring Program where volunteers from different professions serve as mentors to over 10 young alumnae who are currently studying in SoCal for their Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degrees. 10/8/2019 – ABAF Board member Ning Ning Yu visited our alma mater and gave a presentation to students about “Challenges and Opportunities of Artificial Intelligence – The Story of a Female Tech Entrepreneur.” • 12/10-13/2019 – ABAF Board members Julie Shen, Josie Tong and Stella Yen attended the birthday celebration and homecoming of our alma mater in Taipei. o Stella gave a talk to the students about her experiences studying and working abroad. She also met with local alumnae association representatives to explore the logistics of future speakers’ series that will be co-sponsored by ABAF o Julie met with the Principal to explore the use of Smart Classrooms o Both Julie and Stella attended working meetings on the Guang Fu Building Restoration Project. • 2/4/2020 – ABAF formally received the IRS approval for our 501(C)3 status, retroactive as of 5/31/2019. • 2/25/2020 – ABAF Board member Julie Shen launched the campaign slogan “holding thousand hands, Guang Fu appearing again.” for the Guang Fu Building restoration project while attending the annual luncheon of the alumnae association in NorCal. It took longer than we had expected to get all the infrastructures in place, but it is now complete. We are ready to roll out and expand all our campaigns as soon as it is safe to do so and are excited about the contributions we will collectively make in the years to come. In 2020, ABAF will reach out to other 11 local Alumnae associations in the US and build up a relationship network to connect and work together. Due to the pandemics, ABAF will set up an online forum using Zoom, Youtube and Facebook to invite alumnae from different fields to share their experiences and expertise with other alumnae and students in alma mater. ABAF will also continue to raise funds to support the alma mater and offer programs for the community.
