Mission Statement
The Mogadishu Education and Relief Corporation is organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes in accordance with Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. In specifics, M.E.R.C. is dedicated to aiding and improving the education of the Somali youth inhabiting Mogadishu through supplying school supplies, books, etc. M.E.R.C., aside from advancing the youth's education, has also set forth the goal of assisting the various Somali citizens (those that are widespread throughout the current danger zones such as Mogadishu) through relief supplies (e.g. food, water, clothing, etc.).
About This Cause
M.E.R.C. provides educational material to the Somali youth residing in Mogadishu along with relief supplies to the general public. Our service plans to provide a wide range of educational/school materials with some being common basic supplies such as notebooks, pencils, etc. ranging to revamped and new textbooks, books, and so on. The specific objectives and purpose of this organization shall be: push for the advancement of Somali education to help create bright leaders, to provide the materials for such; to provide relief supplies to those living in harsh conditions, assisting those that are in need of desperate support.
