Our mission is to Educate, Elevate, and Empower girls ages 6-21 by offering exposure and representation to help them achieve their aspirations in life.

About This Cause

Black Girls Do Engineer Corporation (BGDE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in June 2019. BGDE is a membership organization. Girls as early as 6 years old join into our program. Our BGDE license curriculum is the basis for our success rate. Our organization was created to inspire and encourage Black-American girls ages 6 to 21 to consider and pursue S.T.E.M.-related careers by providing long-term support for that goal. Our organization goals are to provide access, awareness, and advocate for 2 million Black- American girls to choose science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (S.T.E.M) careers by 2050. Our current programs include the S.T.E.M Program includes these focus areas: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Coding, and Robotics; All Things Energy; Medical Program; Aerospace, Audio and Visual Production, and All Branches of Engineering. Other enrichment programs include Financial Literacy; Mentorship; Upskilling and College Preparatory. Our collegiate level will focus on leadership development, life skills, interview preparation, mentorship, mastering a career fair, training, and understanding your career choice. Workshop and events will be offered.
