Mission Statement
240,000 children are born with Congenital Heart Defect every year, in India. Saloni Heart Foundation provides Free-Unbiased consultation from World's Best Pediatric Cardiologists and Cardio-Thoracic Surgeons to children with complex heart condition. We also provide scholarships to deserving scholars for education in medicine and science, from economically weaker sections of Indian society.
About This Cause
Saloni Heart Foundation is dedicated to saving the lives of children born with Congenital Heart Disease in India, ie heart disease by birth. It is inspired by personal loss. We have 22 ped Cardiologists & Cardio thoracic surgeons from US top hospitals like UCSF Benioff, Stanford, Boston, Phoenix children’s hospital. Till now we have touched 5000 lives since 2019. We have directly impacted in saving lives of children that were declared terminal by the Indian doctors. Challenge: Saloni Heart Foundation (SHF) is working diligently to challenge the status quo on tackling the problem of Congenital Heart Disease. CHD is the #1 frequently diagnosed congenital disorder afflicting approximately 0.8% to 1.2% of live births worldwide , ie 1.33M CHD children born worldwide every year with 90% not getting needed healthcare to survive. Current Status - Only 10 large Pediatric cardiac centers in India perform 10,000 -15,000 surgeries in total per year. Adult cardiac surgeons perform pediatric surgeries without training and little accountability. Most centers are private and choose easy cases reducing the possibility of survival for 90% of the CHD children.
