Mission Statement
The mission of the 10 Elm Foundation is to provide Boxford with a dynamic gathering place in the heart of the village: The Center at 10 Elm.
About This Cause
The 10 Elm Foundation was organized to support the effort to create a combined Community/Senior Center in Boxford. The current Senior Center Is housed in a 180-year-old building, which is not accessible and unable to accommodate the growing number and needs of its seniors. 10 Elm Foundation has committed to raising funds to pay for one-third of the cost of the new building, as well as expanded programs for seniors, youth, and the entire community. To seniors and their families, the Senior Center is a lifeline. We know that decline in function and loss of independence are not an inevitable consequence of aging. Providing seniors with enriching activities provides essential mental health benefits, including lifting a person’s mood and increasing a sense of self-reliance and purpose. A new senior center will ensure no Senior ever feels alone, overwhelmed, overlooked or forgotten; combining this with a community and cultural center offers the opportunity for multigenerational interaction.
