Mission Statement
We are a small public elementary school, serving grades 3K-5. We have a student body of around 200 students which gives the school a strong community feel; everyone knows each other by name (a rare feat for a city school). We as also a Title 1 school meaning greater than 60% of students live in poverty (in our case the percentage is closer to 85%).
About This Cause
Every year, the PS 18 PTA works tirelessly to raise funds to provide enrichment programs for our students. However, with the recent cuts citywide to our school budget, our programs are contingent on parental and charitable contributions. Your grant would go directly toward funding our enrichment programs at PS 18 (this usually includes, music, art, dance, or theatre). It would also generate school-wide enthusiasm at a time that's been less than cheery for our students.
