Mission Statement
The Saraswati Sangam Project aims to create an active and thriving community of intellectuals and researchers devoted to the advancement of Vedic knowledge, and to establish the relevance of Vedic Literature for present day scientific enquiry, as well as motivate new generations of scholars and researchers to study and advance Vedic Literature for addressing pressing current day challenges facing humanity.
About This Cause
Background: “O Saraswati, illuminate the minds of knowledge seekers” The description of River Saraswati in Rigveda, the first and the most sacred of the four Vedas, evokes images of a powerful and majestic river that inspires humanity to grow in wisdom and flow towards divinity. It is no surprise then that over the millennia, the Saraswati evolved to represent the Hindu goddess of knowledge, music, art and nature. Always clad in white, seated on white lotus on a river bank, the Goddess Saraswati, is a personified tribute to our ancient glory of River Saraswati. The knowledge created in the era of the Saraswati River and depicted in the goddess Saraswati is eternal and universal. With this belief, we seek to create a confluence of scientific curiosity and Vedic knowledge, to provide a beacon to present generations for creating a world of universal love, harmony, global sustainable and inclusive development and peace. This journey towards a global sustainable and inclusive development, peace and harmony is the only way humanity can sustain the planet for its prospects of thriving for the long term. Bringing humanity’s ancient knowledge to its present day relevance is a great adventure of a journey towards discovery and transformation, setting aside all political and religious differences. Thus we lay the seeds of an idea in The Saraswati Sangam Project.
