Mission Statement
Woforo seeks to fund (invest in) charitable organizations, programs, and causes in Ghana focused on 1) Promoting gender parity in education, particularly STEM education 2) Economic empowerment of women 3) Bridging the literacy gap and educational enrichment for the marginalized 4) Giving women and girls access, information, resources, and knowledge needed to overcome gender barriers
About This Cause
Woforo Foundation Inc. is a registered US 501(c)(3) non-profit that focuses its giving in Ghana. Woforo is coined from an Akan adinkra symbol and proverb “Woforo dua pa a na yepia wo” . Translated literally as “It is when you climb a good tree that we push you.” We cannot and should not overlook the young African woman or child, particularly, in any social mission targeted towards inclusive global economic development and advancement. Their access to and knowledge of life skills that enable better economic choices must be a basic right, not a privilege! GETTING INVOLVED At Woforo, we get the warm fuzzies (put in professional terms…” most impactful”) when our giving contributes towards making one person’s future more hopeful.
