Mission Statement

To provide girls+ from the hood with skills to be confident, assertive, and independent.

About This Cause

G.IRL is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2017 to empower girls+ from underprivileged communities with the skills to become confident, assertive, and independent. We primarily serve low-income BIPOC youth and teenagers aged 13-19. Our programs focus on bridging the gaps left by the traditional K-12 public school system in areas such as mental health, career exploration, financial literacy, and arts and culture. We provide opportunities for girls+ to learn about life after high school in a safe environment within their communities. Our organization offers direct services to individuals and families in the community. We provide career exploration programs that introduce youth and teens to different career pathways through hands-on learning and field trips. Our after-school extracurricular activities fill the gap left by traditional programs, supplementing school learning with events and workshops. We also offer youth leadership development programs that empower girls+ to become independent and assertive, with opportunities for leadership roles and internships. Additionally, we host programs and events focused on financial literacy and mental health and wellness education.
