We support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead happy, healthy, and fulfilling lives.
About This Cause
Cheyenne Village serves over 400 individuals with developmental disabilities living all across the Pikes Peak Region in a variety of locations including; apartments, host homes and group homes. Because of a solid reputation and sound fiscal management, Cheyenne Village has been able to increase enrollment and expand services in spite of a highly challenging regulatory and funding environment. GOALS Cheyenne Village has an impact on our community by achieving the following goals: • Provide safe and affordable housing and staff support in apartments, host homes, and group homes. • Teach basic skills so individuals can live as independently as possible. • Provide transportation for medical appointments, jobs, recreation, and other activities. • Maintain or improve the health of individuals served by Cheyenne Village. • Help enrich lives by encouraging volunteer and recreational activities. • Provide services to augment existing family or caregiver support. If Cheyenne Village were not here, some of the individuals we serve would most likely be in inappropriate settings such as assisted care facilities or state-run institutions, which are more costly and do not provide the support to help these individuals be part of our community.
