Mission Statement
The JCC of Greater Albuquerque, founded in 2000, is a non-profit organization open to all regardless of religious affiliation, whose mission is "to enrich our community by practicing the values of Jewish life." We will complete our mission by creating community and a sense of inclusion, maintaining the highest standards for consumer satisfaction, providing the opportunities for healthy lifestyles, educational opportunities, social events and programming, while having a strong focus on Jewish culture. With the Jewish concept of Tikkun Olam (to repair the world) in mind, the JCC will ensure a sense of community is fostered through dialog and outreach with the greater Albuquerque, non-Jewish and Jewish communities; and by providing a safe, welcoming and family friendly environment within the walls of the JCC.
About This Cause
The JCC has state-of-the-art fitness and athletic facilities, an aquatics center, an early childhood education center, an elementary school, and day-camp on its seven-acre campus. The JCC runs a wide variety of educational, recreational and social service programs that are open to the entire community and serve people of all ages, from infants to seniors. The JCC provides a welcoming, family-friendly environment that nurtures wellness, identity and community. The JCC supports programs for needy children and families, including: -After school and summer programs for the APS Title I Homeless Project, as well as other programs for homeless families; -Programs and opportunities for the physically challenged, from autistic children to wounded warriors; -A year-round food pantry; blanket drives for the homeless; clothing and book drives for school children; -Support for domestic violence assistance programs; -Financial assistance for families in order to help them access the JCC’s top notch early childhood, camp, and other programs; -Facilities are made available to numerous other non-profit organizations for their use. At the JCC, this generation works to build a future for generations to come.
