About This Cause
Established in 1973, the Rape Crisis of Central New Mexico (RCCCNM) has been serving child/adult sexual assault victims in Albuquerque and the surrounding rural communities for 46 years. RCCCNM exists to provide 24/7 free support and advocacy to survivors of sexual assault, and those affected by this traumatic crime. Sadly, last year we provided 3,577 direct services to 856 sexual assault survivors and fielded 2,680 hotline calls. In addition, we provided 1,891 individual and group therapy sessions to 187 survivors. These numbers continue to rise. As a small agency we rely heavily on the kindness of our volunteers who have generously donated 4,875 hours this year assisting with our 24-hour sexual assault crisis hotline, in person advocacy and community education events. Our mission is dedicated to healing, advocating for rights, and educating for change.
