About This Cause
STEAM URBAN stands at the forefront of educational transformation, dedicated to reshaping the learning landscape for urban students in Black and Brown communities. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we integrate the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) with Expressive Arts, creating a unique and impactful educational experience. Our mission is rooted in the belief that education is not just a pathway to knowledge but a foundational pillar of social justice and community empowerment. STEAM URBAN’S ORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITY & EXPERIENCE STEAM URBAN is a 100% Black and Brown owned operated 501© (3) organization, founded, and birthed in March 2020 after years of research and development to create a teaching framework that would radically change education for Black and Brown Students. Their programming year is from January – November. Their CEO/President is a young, non-profit founder with a visionary mindset and 10 years of experience in entrepreneurship, community leadership, educational reform, and safe space creating. They also oversee the daily operations, train, and develop the Radical Educators (Facilitators), are actively hands-on as the community liaison between the organizations, schools, students and families, and work on the frontlines advocating for environmental, social, and educational Justice. Using their educational framework, S.T.E.A.M. for Educational Justice, they produced 500+ programs per year, impacting 2,500+ participants, employing over 50 Radical Educators, and working with over 100 community partners.
