Mission Statement
Luella’s Lodge is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides support groups and non-traditional holistic therapies for families grieving the death of a child.
About This Cause
Luella’s Lodge is located at 7397 E 1500 North Rd, in Oakwood Illinois (East-Central Illinois). We provide multi-day retreats for grieving parents as well as single-day events. These retreats and events are offered to grieving mothers, grieving fathers, and grieving couples and we serve parents whose child during pregnancy through parents whose adult children died. During retreats, we provide programming that includes group sessions led by a bereaved parent and overseen by a counselor, group meals, yoga sessions, massage therapy, arts & crafts and outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, fishing and bird watching. Our Activities ○ Support groups and discussions. ○ Informal opportunities such as group meals for families to connect and offer support to one another. ○ Yoga therapy, massage therapy, art therapy, music therapy. ○ Outdoor activities including bird watching, kayaking, fishing, and nature walks. ○ Memorial activities to remember and honor our children.
