Iowa Center for Children’s Justice is a nonprofit organization assisting children in custody disputes through child-focused education and legal services.
About This Cause
Core Services • Legal representation for children - ICCJ attorneys are appointed by the court to represent school-age children experiencing divorce or custody matters in Polk and Dallas counties. Our attorneys work with children to listen to their needs and advocate for a resolution. • Divorce workshops for children - Trained facilitators teach children about divorce in a supportive, compassionate and age-appropriate setting. Children participate with kids their age and learn coping skills for lifestyle changes due to divorce. • Alternative dispute resolution services o Child-focused mediation - Attorneys work with parents in custody disputes to find solutions that support children and benefit the entire family. o Parenting coordination - Attorneys work with parents after the court case is done to resolve day to day parenting conflicts. o Neutral evaluation - Attorneys offer an impartial evaluation of divorce or custody disputes with the parents and offers suggestions for resolution.
